128DJ's Exclusive Interviews: Jay Stone

"Back with one of 128DJs exclusive interviews, this time with Mr. Jay Stone. Jay is a top local DJ from the North East as well as internationally, check out our interview with Jay."

For those who don’t know you, who are you?
"Jay Stone." - Straight to the point Jay lol

How old were you when you got your first gig? And where was it?
"18 and a local nightclub."

Which venues have you played at and which is your favorite?
"Too many to list as i hit my 200th venue earlier this year, but Pacha Sharm & Eden Ibiza are up there along with Babyface in China."

Plans for the future?
"Currently working on some productions alongside some big names, you'll have to watch this space ."

What advice could you give to up and coming DJ's / producers wanting to get there name out there?
"Never give up, constantly self promote your self, it will not fall on your lap, practice is key and dare to be different."

Who are your main musical influences?
"Im nearly 30, so my influences are mainly from the 80's. Michael Jackson played a major part in my life as im sure he did in many other peoples; but my influence now are more up-to date."

Up to now, what is your greatest achievement DJ wise?
"I have quite a few im proud of all my tours as they were great successes, but i guess getting the opportunity to play in so many great venues and traveling the world doing it."

If you hosted your own party, which 3 DJ's would you have play?
"haha thats tough! If i had to name 3 individuals they would be Axwell, Thomas Gold and Antoine Clamaran."

How would you guys describe your own sound?
"Funky, uplifting, dirty and delightful!"

What would you like to achieve as a DJ? What are your plans and thoughts for the future?
"Finally finish my album, so i can start touring again. Got some big projects in the pipeline but keeping them close to my chest for now."

So the world's ending tomorrow. You've got one last set to play at any club, anywhere in the world. Where are you playing and why?
"Pacha Ibiza, massive memories from years gone by. My favorite club of all time."

"Tunes of the summer?" In your opinion.
"The one the only - Calling by Ingrosso, so many people will say levels but it doesnt have the same energy for me."

Anyone out there that you anticipate will have a big year in 2012?
"I think Avicii is going from strength to strength alongside the Sweeds. Basto has some big stuff coming up, i think we may see him explode and Bingo Players are 'Rattle'ig out the tunes atm." - Ba dom pshhh

Favorite DJ?
"Dont have a favorite."

Favourite drink to sip on during a performance?
"Vodka monster!"

What do you think of 128DJs?
"Get local pioneers for the music industry, and keep up the good work." - We are awesome lol.
